reaching higher

First post back, somewhat nervous and anxious about getting this out.

I've always been told that my life is the culmination of how you live every year, month, day, and hour. We also live from experience to experience. Being an athlete with this same philosophy, I keep this quote very close to my heart: from Pat Riley, "Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better."
Each time an opportunity arises, it open a door to many other opportunities. I remember writing about taking detours on your life journey when setting out to reach your goal. We should look at each opportunity, however different from our original planning, as one that leads us closer to our ultimate goal and dream in life.
With these two bits in mind, we should strive to reach higher than the past to achieve something extraordinary. Aiming higher (even slightly) can result in something astonishingly great. Take your last experience, challenge the status quo of your life and aim higher; aim one step closer to your dream. Excellence and your dream will be within grasp.
Seize every opportunity to better equip yourself with experiences, knowledge and contacts that will boost you to the next goal.
